Rents move up a year

Market Insight:

• As summer draws to a close, peak rental season is in full swing, with competition intensifying as the school year starts, graduates begin new jobs, students move for university, and others relocate.
• The average rent reached £1,382 in August, up 4.1% year-on-year and 0.9% on July.
• With rising competition, stock levels are struggling to make the grade: almost half (47%) of property professionals report lower stock levels than three months ago.
