What matters most in rentals

Running costs and broadband present the biggest gap between tenants and landlords in terms of what they view as important when a property is marketed to rent. 87% of tenants consider running costs, and 79% broadband speed, important in marketing literature, this falls to just 67% and 57% of landlords respectively. Affordability is the number one priority for renters in the wake of COVID-19, while a rise in home working and blended working patterns place more emphasis on broadband speed. Agents should ensure they have the relevant information available for landlords on costs, internet speeds and providers operating in their area in order to offer the best service possible.
