Unless you’ve been living on a different planet, you might have heard that there is a Royal Wedding taking place this weekend. Prince Harry and his American bride Meghan Markle are tying the knot and we thought we would bring you all the details for the big day. If the wedding doesn't interest you, the FA Cup final kicks off at 17:15.

The coverage all starts with a BBC One special on Friday night “They’re Getting Married in the Morning”. This special preview starts at 19:00! It’s all go in the morning with the BBC One's live coverage starting at 09:00 and lasting until 14:00. If that’s not enough there is a highlights programme on 18:30-20:00 on BBC 2 from 18:30-20:00. The BBC have waived the TV license fee for public screenings, so Kirsty Young, Huw Edwards and Dermot O’Leary can bring you the coverage straight to the beer garden! If you’re out and about don’t worry… Chris Evans is broadcasting live from Windsor for BBC Radio 2. You can’t miss out!

The Wedding schedule

08:00 – Members of the public will begin gathering outside the chapel where they can view the royals as they come and go

09:30 – Guests for the chapel will begin arriving and they must be in their seats by

11:15 (You wouldn’t want to be late for this wedding) 12:00 – The service inside St George’s Chapel will begin for the 600 guests that are present.

13:00 – The service is completed, and the newest Royal couple will begin their 25 minute procession from the chapel through Windsor Town.

Afternoon: The reception will take place at St George’s Hall. Evening: The private reception takes place at Frogmore House for 200 close family and friends.

 

Facts about the big day!

Prince William will be Prince Harry’s best man, returning the favour from his wedding.

Pubs and clubs are legally allowed to stay open for 2 extra hours. The couple want the British public to participate in the celebrations.

There are several road closures in and around Windsor. Look out for disruptions in public transport as well! M

eghan Markle’s Father will not be attending. Prince Charles is walking Megan down the aisle.

Over 1,000 members of the public have received invitations to the grounds of Windsor Castle to watch the couple arrive and leave.
