Summer BBQ Tips

Now that we all have a bit more spare time in the evenings, it might be time to throw the Summer garden party you've always wanted to host... Football won't be coming home (for now) but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the heat. In this week’s blog we’ve got some tips on how to make sure your Summer garden party way better than your neighbours!

Music - We’ll start with the music. You’ll need the perfect playlist but don’t worry about curating it yourself. Popular streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music have plenty of options to choose from. You may want to save a few quid and search for some playlists on YouTube, this may seem a good idea but be prepared to be interrupted by adverts!

Land - You have a few options when it comes to where to host the party. Obviously, your garden is the prime candidate, but you may not have this option. If you don’t have the green space to party, you can use local sport facilities e.g. cricket clubs and golf clubs. If you agree to use their bars, you can often hire out the facilities for free.

Alcohol and Drinks - We thought we would get this section covered before the food… Keep an eye out on the deals in local supermarkets. Traditionally Asda and Morrisons have great bulk buy deals on alcohol. If you’re wanting to increase the bulk buy options, there’s always cash and carry or Costco. Make sure you have plenty of space to cool and store the beverages. Why not fill a paddling pool with ice cold water!

Food - We’ll leave the debate open as to which is more important (food or drink). Regardless of your chosen stance, they are both mightily important components of the garden party. Carrying out a successful garden feast often revolves around organisation. You can set out a base menu and then direct friends and family to bulk up selections. Being organised can help prevent a stack of potato salad that nobody wants.

Lighting - If your garden party goes well (If you follow these tips how can it not) guests should still be around when the sun sets. To keep the party going it’s vital that you offer up some lightening options. Firepits and outdoor lighting can be a great way to keep the party going until the break of dawn (Or for however long neighbors allow proceedings to continue).

Added touches - For your party to be a success you want to consider even the smallest of details. Decorations can be great to create a party feel but they’re also important in a practical sense. You need to think about where people are going to congregate and where people can sit. Dust off that garden furniture and shake off those picnic rugs!
